Brother MFC-L2710DW Laser Printer: Best laser printer for Amazon FBA?

Are you looking for a low cost, high-yield printer to meet all your Amazon FBA printing needs? The Brother MFC-L2710DW laser printer which I recently bought might be the perfect solution. It’s an excellent option for printing Amazon FNSKU barcode labels, FBA shipment labels and everything else in between.

I personally bought this printer because I needed something with a high resolution (DPI) to print labels with very small text, which neither the Dymo or Zebra GK520D printers could do.

The Brother MFC-L2710DW looks stylish and high-tech but does its performance and functionality match its appearance? Let’s take a closer look.

Main features of the Brother MFC-L2710DW laser printer

Parameters to review

Physical Design (4/5)

Looking at the size of the printer which is 12.5 by 15.7 x 12.5 inches it appears to be just perfect for homes and small business enterprises. We found that its multi-page copying feature is immensely helpful and we realize the value of ADF (automatic document feeder) and how much time it can save. The MFC-L2710DW has an option of a 250-sheet input paper tray that saves our time of changing the paper continuously. The outer look of the MFC-L2710DW is predominantly out-of-date, with a 2 line monochrome LCD, ten-key number pad, and multiple buttons for copying, faxing, and editing particular functions. We need to walk up to the printer and press a few buttons to get the work done.

Connectivity (4/5)

The Brother MFC-L2710DW has provisions for a wide scope of connections. We may very well connect to a single PC using a USB cable, connect to our network with an Ethernet cable, or connect through Wi-Fi. We can give printing commands right from our mobile device using Wi-Fi Direct. In this case, the printer generates its remote passage to which our telephone is connected.

Printing through mobile is also supported in various forms such as Google Cloud Print, Apple AirPrint, and Brother’s iPrint&Scan.

Printing speed (4.5/5)

Daily, with normal Job printing work, this printer can print about 32 PPM. Similarly, priced printers of Canon and HP can print up to 24 pages per minute.

Quality of Print & Scan (4/5)

Although this printer comes with a low price, it provides us immensely good quality prints with resolution up to 2400 x 600 dots per inch. Even the minute fonts are visible, the scanner gives a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dots per inch while using the flatbed. The maximum optical scan resolution is 600 x 600 dots per inch If we use the automatic document feeder. Text output is perfect, graphics, images, and photo exhibit well in grayscale tones.

Operating Costs (3.5/5)

The Brother MFC-L2710DW comes in between the high-end laser printers and expensive inkjet printers. It has a significantly low operating cost when we compare it to similar printers available in the market. We get one of each toner cartridge and drum unit at the time of buying. The toner yields up to 700 pages and the drum unit needs to be replaced after 12000 pages. If the volume of prints is up to 2000 pages per month this is best for our financial savings.

Pros

  • The acquisition cost compared to its competitors is fairly low.
  • Offers Direct Wi-Fi as a connectivity option, a unique feature which differentiates it from its competitors.
  • Along with Wi-Fi we also get USB 2.0, Ethernet, and wireless connectivity, the majority of these options give us support for Google cloud print, Mopria, and Apple air print.
  • Speed. We can print up to 30 pages per minute which is fabulous for a printer in this price range.
  • The printer is Engineered in such a way so that it has a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder to deliver great quality 2 sided printed pages.

Cons

  • The running cost of Brother MFC-L2710DW is quite high if a lot of pages are printed regularly.
  • Its capacity is fixed up to 250 sheets and cannot be expanded.
  • It hardly has any encryption protocols and the Setting Lock feature.

Conclusion

The Brother MFC-L2710DW is a solid yet inexpensive laser printer from a well-known brand. It’s multipurpose, lightweight, and a compact all-in-one printer, making it perfect for individuals and small online businesses.

At first glance, this printer might seem expensive but it’s really not. Especially given that you can print Amazon FNSKU labels, shipping labels and product labels using it. This is great if you are running a small operation as you will save money.

If, however, efficiency is important to you, this printer should be used for one function, otherwise you will spend a lot of time changing between different types of paper types. I personally use the Brother MFC-L2710DW to print product labels, the Zebra GK420d to print shipping labels and the Dymo LabelWriter 450 to print Amazon FBA labels.

Regardless of how you use the Brother MFC-L2710DW laser printer, it’s a quality piece of gear.
